Buni Calls on NDLEA Commander To Curb of Illicit Drugs in Yobe

His excellency the executive Governor of Yobe state,Hon Mai Mala Buni CON (Chiroman Gujba) has called on zonal commander of National Drug Low Enforcement Agency NDLEA incharge of zone 1 comprising Bauchi,Yobe and Borno states, ACGN Marcus Ayuba to fight to control the proliferation and taking of drugs across the state. He made call when the zonal commander paid him a courtesy at Government House Damaturu
The governor stressed the need for more collaboration and partnership with the agency in order to combat the sales and use of illicit drugs in the state.
He further noted that drugs abuse has a direct link to crimes and criminality, he therefore urged the zonal commander to redouble his effort and collaborate with the relevant agencies in the fight against the use of illicit drugs and their peddlers.
The governor was represented by his Deputy His Excellency Hon Idi Barde (Gubana Wazirin) who assured the government support and readiness towards eliminating the manance in the state.
Earlier in his introductory remarks, the Zonal commander ACGN Marcus Ayuba informed the Governor that he was in the state on a familiarisation and advocacy visit aimed at improving the services of his personnel.
He commended the synergy and support rendered to the state command, he stressed that the state government is a major stakeholder in the fight against the use of illicit drugs.
He reiterated the commitment of his personnel in ensuring compliance with the national and international drug control laws, as well as combat the trafficking and abuse of illicit drugs in the zone and Nigeria as a whole.
On behalf of the executive chairman, National Drug Low Enforcement Agency, presented a letter of appreciation to the state government for its concern and moral support to the state command.
