Maiduguri Flood: YOSEMA Awards Staff in Damaturu

The Yobe State emergency management agency awarded it's staff for their outstanding performance during Maiduguri flood disaster that occured in the month of August 2024, during it's end of the year retreat. The event took place, on Thursday 2nd January, at Miyetti Allah Arena, Damaturu, the Yobe State capital.
The theme "Putting a smile on the faces of 2000 Almajiris" the egency flag of distribution of Cardigan, mat, head warm and rubber shoes and blankets to ease the suffering of cold and protection in marching of sharp object that will harm their health status among the Almajiris in the state.
The Executive Secretary Mohammed Goje said the agency is always to fullfil the mandate of governor Mai Mala Buni, which he said emergency respond should extend within 24 hours of knock and crannies of the state.
Dr. Goje added that, the agency is always ready in discharging it's duties in every aspect of the state, complain/ suggestion box introduced to the populace for complain or suggestion in other to have conducted good , well skilled and professional relief management.
During the event, the agency organize competition such as writing competition, walking with egg in a spoon, eating, sack jumping among others, winners were awarded N20,000 naira each.
The Ulamas express there satisfaction toward the gesture of Yobe State and State emergency management agency for there outstanding inclusion of almajiri in providing material that will help in development of Almajiris career.
Abubakar Kachalla KZ an awardee said he is " deeply honored to receive the award as the Outstanding Rescue Mission Team, The recognition is an attestation to our collective effort and commitment to serving humanity. To my colleagues Let us continue to give our best, remain united, and strive to touch more lives positively. Together, we can achieve even greater feats".
