Help the Amputee Foundation, organised a food outreach program in Damaturu, bringing together survivors of bomb blasts and car accidents. The event was held on Monday November 18, 2024.

Alhaji Abubakar Mahmud Wambai and President/Founder Mr. Joseph Tizhe, delivered a speech, which emphasized the foundation’s commitment to supporting those affected by trauma.
According to Chairman Wambai, the foundation’s mission goes beyond just providing physical aid, aiming to care for the heart, mind, and spirit of the survivors.

In his speech, the Senior Special Assistant to President Tinubu, on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities, Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa, said "this initiative is part of a larger, ongoing effort that has seen successful food relief distributions in several regions across the country, including Abuja, Adamawa State, and others. This latest phase in Yobe State reaffirms our commitment to extending support to vulnerable populations in line with our broader mission to address their needs and ensure no one is left behind.
The program, undertaken in collaboration with Help the Amputee Foundation, focuses on alleviating immediate hunger while also advancing inclusivity and equity in addressing the challenges faced by persons with special needs. By targeting some of the most vulnerable members of society, this initiative continues to demonstrate our resolve to create sustainable opportunities and promote social justice for all.

This distribution in Yobe State marks yet another milestone in our national effort to address hunger and support persons with special needs as parts of the renewed hope agenda. It highlights the continuity of our mission and our resolve to ensure that every region benefits from this initiative. May it inspire further partnerships and interventions as we work towards a more inclusive and equitable Nigeria, leaving no one behind".
President/Founder Mr. Tizhe Kwaji said "The foundation’s mission goes beyond physical aid, aiming to care for the heart, mind, and spirit of survivors.
He highlighted the importance of community in overcoming challenges and the need for continued support.

Donations are crucial to ensuring the foundation can provide essential services to people living with disabilities".
The event was attended by Founder and President of 'Help the Amputee Foundation' Tizhe Kwaji, Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad (Madakin Mubi), Hon. Saratu Sabo, the Focal Person for the Yobe State Nigeria for Women Project, Usman Bura Gabai, Chairman of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) Yobe State Chapter, Hon. Zainab Gumel Senior Special Assistant on Women Empowerment to Jigawa State Governor and other distinguished personalities who graced the occasion with their presence.
The event was held at NUJ Conference Hall Damaturu, Yobe state capital.
