YODMA Begins Training of Key Technical Staff On Score Card Development
The Yobe State Drugs and Medical Consumables Management Agency (YODMA) has begun training of its 22 key technical staff on score card development.
The Executive Secretary of the agency, Pharmacist Abdulaziz Garba Muhammad stated this at a four-day workshop for 22 key technical staff of the agency in Damaturu the state capital on Tuesday, the 19th of December 2023.
He noted that units and individuals score cards were critical in measuring productivity.
“Basically, we are a result oriented agency; this means we have to track the performance of staff that aggregates the whole agency.
“We discovered that at the collective level, we are making progress, but at individual levels, the performance and accountability are really not there because some people don’t understand their functions.
“We felt the best thing to do is to bring down performance monitoring system down to individual and units levels and develop a score card for each individual to engender accountability and transparency,” he said.
In his presentation, Kalli Lawan, the agency’s Deputy Director, Quality Assurance, Production and Control, noted that YODMA is being run as a business firm even though it is a public enterprise.
He also highlighted the objectives of the training which include to build the capacity of the agency's staff on how to develop score card, to track progress towards the goals and objectives of YODMA as well as to improve transparency and accountability amongst staff.
He charged the trainees to redouble their efforts in order to achieve the vision and mission of the agency as well as its core values and objectives.
