Buni Approves Amendment Of Bill On Yobe State University

The Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has approved “A bill for a law to amend Yobe State University and for other Matters Connected therewith".
In a statement issued by Shuaibu Abdullahi,
Press Secretary to Yobe State Secretary to the State Government, said that, the affected sections of the assented law are Paragraphs 7, 12 (a), 13(2) and 14 (2) of the Yobe State University Amendment Law 2012.
Under the new arrangement, tenure of principal officers of the University, namely the Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Bursar and the Librarian will cover a period of five (5) years, but that such officer shall not be eligible for re- appointment for another term.
The law further indicated that “Notwithstanding the provisions of any other Laws, all appointments of principal officers made prior to this amendments shall be deemed to have been made under this Law.”
