Gov Buni Impel The Security To Redouble Their Effort In Restoring Complete Peace In The State

His Excellency the Executive Governor of Yobe state Hon Mai Mala Buni CON ( Chiroman Gujba)on Saturday 2nd September 2023, made the remark while receiving the Chief of Army Staff, Lt General TA Lagbaja who paid courtesy call to the Governor at Government House Damaturu.

Welcoming the chief of army staff, Governor Buni noted that his administration Will continue to seek the support and cooperation of the Nigeria army and other security agencies at all the times.

In a statement issued by Press secretary to the Yobe State Deputy Governor, Hussaini Mai Sule, said that, the Governor was represented by his Deputy His Excellency Hon Idi Barde Gubana (Wazirin Fune) thanked the army chief for the visit and expressed satisfaction with the effort of the security personnel for combating terrorism and other crimes in the state. He particularly pointed out that the soldiers have done a lot in restoring peace in Yobe and other parts of the North East region.

He further called on the security to consolidate on their gains to restore complete peace for people to work in their farms without any fear.

Earlier speaking during the visit, The chief of Army Staff Lt Gen. TA Lagbaja, disclosed that he was in the state on an operatonal tour of Army formations and units in the North East region.

He said being the chief of Army Staff he was aware of the challenges around Damasak and Gaidam axis and other volatile areas where terrorists are still causing a threat. The army chief emphasized that he was making frantic efforts to overcome the problem as soon as possible.
