Yobe Rolls Out 7-Day Programmes For Buni, Gubana Second-Term Inauguration
Yobe State Government has released 7-Day programmes for the colorful inauguration of Governor Mai Mala Buni CON and his deputy, Hon. Idi Barde Gubana for a second term in office.

The programmes, which will start on Wednesday 24 May, 2023 will witnessed the Swearing-in of Permanent Secretaries, Chairmen of Commissions and Permanent Board Members at WAWA Hall, Government House

Wednesday 24 May, 2023 - Valedictory session EXCO-Meeting at Executive Council Chamber

Thursday 25 May, 2023 - Distribution of Empowerment Materials by SEMA and Ministry of Wealth Creation at the Event Centre Government House

Friday 26 May, 2023 - Prayers across the State and Submission of report by the State Committee on Prerogative of Mercy

Friday 26 May, 2023 - Swearing-in of Chairmen Local Government Caretaker Management Committee at Banquet Hall

Saturday 27 May, 2023 - Empowerment of 356 Orphans and 178 Widows at the Event Centre, Government House

Saturday 27 May, 2023 - Official Launch of Yobe State Emergency Medical Ambulance Service at Event Centre, Government House

Sunday 28 May, 2023 - Inaugural Lecture at Banquet Hall

Sunday 28 May, 2023 - Dinner and Gala Night at Banquet Hall

Monday 29 May, 2023 -  Swearing-in of His Excellency and His Deputy by the Chief Judge in the morning

Tuesday 30 May, 2023 - Ground breaking ceremony for the construction of Bukarti - Toshiya 18Km road

Wednesday 31 May, 2023 - Ground breaking ceremony of Dumburi - Masafa road

All these are lined up to celebrate Gov. Buni and Gubana, who have performed excellently in office in the first term, with the promise of improved performance based on the continuity, consolidation and innovation agenda moving Yobe state forward.

Meanwhile, the Honourable Commissioner for Home Affairs, Information and Culture, who is the publicity Sub-committee Chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Lamin, has said that activities for the second term inauguration has begun.

Mohammed Lamin said looking objectively at governor Buni’s first tenure inaugural speech in 2019, and his accomplishments despite the Covid-19 challenges and the economic recess, the performance standards reached is close to 80 percent which is above pass mark in the World Wide Governance Indicator (WWGI).

He said this is traceable in the area of infrastructure, health sector reforms, education, youth, women empowerment, employment generation among others

“No doubt, Gov.Buni is a promise keeper and committed visionary leader whose objectivity is among others ensuring development and better living standard for his people,” he said.

He called on members of the public to come out enmasse to witness the inauguration.

“Government is expecting citizens of the state to conduct themselves in appropriate manner and give the security agencies maximum support and cooperation for the event to succeed,” he added.
