NPC Partners with Journalists in Yobe State

The National Population Commission organised 1 day capacity building workshop on preparations for the conduct of the 2023 population and Housing Census to journalists in Yobe State.

The  Hon. Federal Commissioner, National Population Commission Yobe State, Alhaji Mai Aliyu Muhammad,who spoke at the opening ceremony stated that, the Commission will partner with journalists for effective coverage and sustained awareness campaign. 

The workshop aims to ensure that journalists are in top gear to enlighten, inform and educate the public on the upcoming census. 

Alhaji Mai Aliyu said the training will provide journalists with the required management rules, regulations and procedures that are necessary for the reportage of the census.

In his remarks, Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists ( NUJ) Yobe State council, said the workshop is expected to build the capacity and effectiveness of reporting by journalists. He commended the good relationships between the government, NPC and NUJ in the state. 

The workshop has in attendance stakeholders from the NPC and several journalists from different media organisations across the state.
